Woodland High School Students Excel at FFA Regionals!
Woodland High School's FFA chapter demonstrated exceptional professionalism and skill at this year's highly competitive FFA District 8 Regionals.
Students competing in Employability faced a rigorous series of challenges, showcasing their abilities in essential career skills. The competition included:
- Resume and Cover Letter Development
- Job Application Completion
- Personal Interview Performance
- Interview Thank You Letter Composition
- Job Acceptance Phone Call Execution
Our students rose to the occasion, leaving a lasting impression on the judges. CTE Agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor Kendra Pearce received numerous compliments on their professionalism and polite demeanor, making Woodland High School proud!
Alexia Alplanalp's journey exemplifies the personal growth fostered by the FFA program. In her own words, "I am so grateful to have been allowed to represent Woodland FFA at state. Placing second in not only one but two competitions has shown me that I can do anything I put my mind to and work hard to accomplish. A few years ago, I would never have imagined myself competing in speaking competitions in general. It just wasn't who I was, so I am so proud of how far I've come over the past year, and I can't wait to continue at State.”
We are thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of our students:
- Alexis Alplanalp secured 2nd place in both Extemporaneous Speech and Employability and has qualified for the state in both competitions.
- Cody Krieger earned 4th place in Employability and has also qualified for the state competition!
- Zem Talbot achieved a Top 10 in Employability placement.
- Jonathan Sanchez-Avendano placed in the Top 15 in Employability.
- The Woodland Chapter members, Olivia Ruonavaara, Cody Krieger, and Zem Talbot, have qualified for state in the FFA History Scrapbook competition and will be competing at state as well.
Congratulations to Alexis, Cody, Zem, Jonathan, and Olivia on their remarkable accomplishments. We wish Alexis, Cody, Zem, and Olivia the best of luck as they advance to the state competition at WSU Pullman, May 7-10!
