I mean really where did January go? It seems like Christmas came, and New Year’s, then I blinked, and now it’s February. I have to say maybe it just seemed to fly by to me because I was actually pretty busy and not just sitting around or working. Anyways, since it’s been like over a month since my last post, I’ll just do a quick recap of the past month. I had a good Christmas it was pretty low key, we spent part of the day at my in-laws house and the other part at my parents’ house. For New Year’s Eve hubby and I went to Chicago with friends and partied it up at a radio station bash. It was so fun, I had a great time and didn’t even really drink that much. We stayed there about a week and just had a much needed vacation. We really just saw the sights and did some shopping. We live about two hours outside of Chicago so when we go there we like to just sort of be tourists. We went to a Blackhawks vs Senators hockey game, which was fun the Blackhawks ended up winning that game. But the best thing we did, well in my opinion was that we went to see Wicked at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Great show and by far one of my most favorite musicals, it’s right up there with Rent and Annie for me. This was the second time I’ve seen it live and I still loved it. I’m a musical theater nut so for me this was just awesome, I’ve been wanting to see it since I found out it was coming back to Chicago. Let’s see, then when we got home I somehow threw my back out. I’m not really sure what happened I just woke up one day and I couldn’t bend at the waist or turn my head from side to side. It was stiff for about a week and I spent most of my time just laying around. I tried heat, ice, then rotating between the two, and Icy Hot rub. Then when I decided I had enough and was about to go to the chiropractor it just got better. Weird but at least I didn’t have to pay a fortune for a doctor’s visit. Also in January my laptop just suddenly went on the fritz. It just randomly turns it’s self off and overheats for no real reason. Now it’s to the point that it just does whatever it wants when you click on something and then it shuts off. Using a cooling fan worked for a couple of days, just long enough for me to get all my important stuff on to an external drive. The tech guy for the office I work for looked at it and basically said it was a lost cause and would probably be more to repair than just buying a new one, so I’m about to get a new one I ordered from Dell a few days ago. In the mean time I had tried to post last week using my iPhone WP app but the damn thing wouldn’t post right and now it’s all jacked up. I swear that app hasn’t worked right ever since I first downloaded it. The only way I’m even able to blog today is because we had a snow day and hubby brought his netbook home from work and let me borrow it to blog.

Speaking of snow day, we got hammered with that huge snow storm here yesterday and today. I’d say we got about 12 to 14 inches overall plus ice and sleet beforehand. We had blizzard warnings and the wind was so bad we have huge drifts like 2 feet deep. So basically we’ve been snowed in and just hanging out for the last couple of days. Hubby left work at noon on Tuesday to beat the storm because we live like 40 minutes away from his job. He’s planning on going in Thursday morning because they were closed today. Well pretty much everything was closed or canceled for today and most of our interstates and highways were impassible this morning. I took a few pictures of my yard to share. The first couple are from last night before anything was plowed and the others are from this afternoon once the plows made it down the street and we went to dig our cars out. If you look closely you can judge the snow depth by the air conditioning unit in one picture and also how high the snow comes up to the yard swing in one of the pictures. It’s mostly the view from my front deck and across the street. We have two driveways and my poor hubby was a shoveling maniac today so he and my dog Lola are in a couple of the photos. Anyways I probably won’t get to post again until my new laptop comes and with this snow it could be a few days before we get deliveries again so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it’s soon because I was working on a new layout and I’m anxious to get back to that. Of course getting a new computer also means I have to actually do some work again which sucks, but oh well. I mean I make my own hours and work at my own pace (well sort of my own pace I do have time lines) so really what do I have to complain about! Until next time Big Love .
