So I hope everyone had a good Valentines Day, or that at the very least it didn’t suck too hard. We had plans to celebrate it Saturday night, but they got derailed when my hubby‘s uncle passed away and we had to go to Atlanta. The visitation was on Sunday and the funeral Monday. So we (hubby and I) ended up doing Valentines there. It’s weird it seems like every time someone in my life passes away, it happens around a holiday. Not that Valentines Day is such a huge holiday in my life or anything, but the last funeral I went to was my uncle and that was around the 4th July. Anyway back to Valentines, so we went out to dinner when we got in Saturday night. It was nice and just the two of us, which was good since we spent the day traveling with his family. We ate at Red Lobster and then went to see Just Go With It with Adam Sandler and Jen Aniston.
I heard that the critics hated this movie but I thought it was funny. The story didn’t lag and the humor was meant to be outrageous and not at all plausible, which it was. I laughed all the way through, so I say if you like that kind of humor it’s worth seeing. Then we pretty much just did the family thing with the funeral and all after that, but it was nice that we got to take a little time out and have a date to celebrate. On the way down we had a delay (what else is new) so I explored the airport with my niece (she’s 14 and likes to hang around me) and of course we ended up shopping! I bought a cute little cover for my iPhone, a couple of magazines, and a book for the flight.
The book is called Kardashian Konfidential of course it’s about the Kardashian sisters, Koutney, Kim, and Khloe. I’m not really a huge fan of them or anything, although I have watched their reality shows, but the book caught my eye and I figured why not. I finished it in three sittings so it wasn’t the longest book, or the deepest for that matter.
It’s kind of scrapbook style, with a lot of pictures in it, and they narrate and tell stories from each of their own lives. They talk about their childhood, parents, and family life. Plus what it’s like to have instant fame and how they manage their bodies, minds, and careers. It was not a life changing book or anything, but it gave a little insight into who they are I guess. It’s definitely a book I won’t mind lending out to people.
I got home late Tuesday night, then Wednesday morning after I went to my parents and picked up my dog, I spent the day cleaning house and doing laundry. I hate when we leave for more than one night because of all the laundry that adds up. Plus my hubby, he forgot to take the trash off the enclosed porch before we left and when we came back the porch had a funky odor. So I aired that out and cleaned the walls with some strong smelling cleaner to get rid of that smell. It worked so that’s always good. I got my new laptop last week before all of this so I have gotten most of my programs and stuff on it.
It’s a Dell Inspiron. So far I like it, although I haven’t really done anything much on it yet. It is definitely fast, and the ability to multitask is really good. I had a bunch of different windows going simultaneously and it didn’t seem to slow down or anything. Really, I like that it’s pink! I’ve never had a color other than black before.
Well now that Oprah is almost over I guess I’ll get up and do something lol! I’m kidding but seriously though I am watching Oprah! Big Love kiddos!
